As a “working museum” ddg is all about the cars. As we all know, classic cars are expensive and time consuming to restore, repair and maintain. Nevertheless, we have tried to put them within reach of just about everybody.
By using the cars in a responsible commercial format:
1. They can be restored and maintained to a very high standard.
2. Enthusiasts can enjoy using them.
3. The public can enjoy seeing them on the road.
Since there are very few companies nation-wide that offer vintage classic cars for rent, why not take advantage of what we have available. If not now, when?
One of the great joys one experiences driving these cars is the enthusiastic response one gets from fellow motorists. Friendly honks, thumbs up and high fives are the order of the day.
Driving a classic car is different from one of today’s high tech vehicles. Nowadays, one expects a car to do pretty much what you want, when you want. Not so with the older vehicles. A car such as a vintage Ferrari or Jaguar E Type offers a motoring experience of a different sort. One is required to interact with the car and road in a patient, tolerant manner. These cars were not built to be ordered about. Each one seems to have its own personality, strengths and weaknesses. So, if you choose to rent one of these great vehicles, please allow for the fact that they are different.
In order to protect the cars we have put into place a number of protective safeguards such as satellite tracking, insurance requirements, age minimums and an agreement of use contract. For first time customers we usually require at least 48 hours notice.
Rental policy:
Because of the nature of our classic car fleet and the strict insurance requirements under which we must operate some highly qualified persons may not be able to rent from us. For this we apologize.
Requirements
- Major credit card authorization
- Sufficient automobile insurance
- Home ownership and/or solid employment history
- 25 years or older (35 years or older for performance vehicles)
- Cars must be kept in a garage overnight
- Cars must not be valet parked
